Barry Schwabsky’s collections of poetry include Opera: Poems 1981-2002 (Meritage Press, 2003), Book Left Open in the Rain (Black Square Editions/The Brooklyn Rail, 2009), and 12 Abandoned Poems (Kilmog Press, 2010). His new book of poetry, Trembling Hand Equilibrium, will be published this year by Black Square Editions, along with a collection of critical writings on poetry. Recent magazine and online publications of his work have been with Bomb, The Bow-Wow Shop, Snow, and West Wind Review, among others. He is art critic for The Nation and co-editor of international reviews for Artforum and has recently published Words for Art: Criticism, History, Theory, Practice (Sternberg Press, 2013).
John Yau has published books of poetry, fiction, and criticism. A book of poems, Further Adventures in Monochrome, was released by Copper Canyon Press in the spring of 2012. Recent publications include A Thing Among Things: The Art of Jasper Johns (D.A.P/Distributed Arts Publishers, 2008) andExhibits (Letter Machine Editions, 2010). In 1999, he started Black Square Editions, a small press devoted to poetry, fiction, translation, and criticism. He was the Arts Editor for the Brooklyn Rail (2007-2011) before he began writing regularly for Hyperallergic Weekend.
